Hopkinton Girl’s varsity soccer played Ashland September 30. This was the team’s seventh game of the season. The result was a Hopkinton 2-0 victory. Bri McSweeny scored first, assisted by Emily Blake. Hopkinton reached half time up 1-0. Micah Ulrich also scored in the second half. Stephanie Hadley led the defense, while goal keeper, Ali Mourey, made eight saves in the shutout. Ashland goal keeper Kelley Grover had five saves against the Hiller attack. This match left the Hopkinton Hillers record at 4-2-1 in the Tri-Valley League.
This was the first game played against league rival Ashland. Played under the lights, right after the Boy’s varsity game, the night also served as a fundraiser for the girl’s program.
