The four winners of the first annual 2013 Hopkinton High School Student Journalism Competition have been selected.
Seniors Lindsay Manning and Liz Clark won the Best Overall Prize for their exchange student interview video. The Best Print Prize went to Senior Blair Guild for her article on former HHS Principal Alyson Geary and the Best Media Prize was awarded to sophomore Katherine Allen for her B+ video.
MetroWest Daily News Editor-in-chief Richard Lodge was the guest juror and reviewed the finalists and selected the winners.
Mr. Lodge commented on the strength of Manning and Clark’s best overall video, Â “After watching it I felt I knew a lot about Maybritt, her motivation for coming to Hopkinton High School and how she is viewed by the school community. I thought the questions were good and overall video editing was impressive.”
The competition was put on by the student newspaper staff (hhspress.org) and was sponsored by the MetroWest Daily News and the Hopkinton Crier. The MetroWest donated prize money for the winners.
