Girls Softball: Hillers 3 vs. Bellingham 2 |
Girls Tennis: Hillers 4 vs. Wellesley 1 |
In the only Tri Valley league matchup that pits father against son in the coaching ranks, Hopkinton coach Dennis Baker took his Hillers softball team to Bellingham to face his dad’s Hawks, Friday, May 8th. The Hillers arrived undefeated in the TVL and remained that way, as they defeated Bellingham 3 to 2.
Juliet Hulme won her fifth straight start, allowing one hit, striking out 12, but walking 6. But it was Kayla Sullivan’s 2 run blast that led the way for the Hillers to stay on top. It was Sullivan’s league leading fifth home run.
Next the girls host Millis, Monday, the 11th for a 3:45 start.
Also, the girls tennis team just keeps rolling, as they defeated Wellesley 4 matches to 1, for their 11th win of the season without a loss.
Steph Pearson and Devon LaMachia prevailed in a quick 6-2, 6-0 contest. Senior Olivia Anderson won her #1 singles match. Both freshmen Zoe Komodromos and Elisabeth Cooperman combined for the other singles victories to ensure the Hillers undefeated run stays in tact.
Next the girls travel to Millis Monday for another TVL test.
