Raising Cane’s is a restaurant that succeeds because they have picked one thing and exceled at it: making chicken tenders.
That’s it. That’s practically all they do, yet the line that stretches from the front door to the back parking lot is long for a reason.
The chicken is fresh, the sauce is amazing, and you know exactly what you’re getting every time. It’s not complicated food, but it’s satisfying.
One of Raising Cane’s most popular ordes, the Box Combo, pairs a perfected set of chicken tenders with crickle-cut fries, Texas Toast, coleslaw, and a container of the restaraunt’s very own sauce. For a fast food place, Raising Cane’s truly ffers something worth talking about.
The tenders are hand-battered and fried fresh, which you can tell from the taste. The outside is crispy without being too oily, as these pieces do not sit long before being scooped up. This combination keeps the inside juicy and tender. They don’t go crazy with spices, which actually works pretty well, as the sauce shines.
Yet what makes this place truly spectacular is the sauce everyone talks about. Cane’s sauce is creamy with a little tang and some garlic flavor that makes you want to drown each tender in it.
The box combo offers four tenders, fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and a container of that famous sauce.
The sauce is so good, I didn’t want to burn it all through the meal. I deliberately avoided using much on the toast to save some for home. I ended up bringing some sauce home to use with my mom’s cooking.
The fries are pretty standard, nothing amazing, but they do the job. The Texas Toast is thick and buttery, which makes everything taste better. In fact, I asked to switch the coleslaw for another piece of toast, which was easy and cost nothing extra.
For around $13, you get a great amount of food that’ll fill you up. The service is fast, and the workers are friendly, even though it was very busy.

Beyond just the food, the entire dining experience is great. The atmosphere of the restaraunt is casual and lively, with lines of dazzling disco balls hanging from the rustic ceiling. The restaraunt, which now has over 800 locations, first used disco balls to cover a skylight at the original Raising Cane’s site. This tradition has continued ever since.
The only potential problem with Raising Cane’s is that aside from chicken tenders, there is quite literally nothing else on the menu. No spicy chicken, no different sauces – no variety at all.
If you’re not in the mood for chicken tenders, you’re out of luck. However, if you haven’t tried Raising Cane’s yet and you like chicken tenders, definitely go get some. Just be ready for a very straightforward menu and no extra add-ons.
Just trust me – the sauce alone ensures you will want to return.
