GAME REVIEW: Jackbox Party Pack 7

Editor’s Note: This is the fourth in a series of reviews covering Jackbox Party Packs. Here is a list of all the reviews.

The Jackbox Party Pack 7 is said to be one of the best Jackbox Party Packs of them all… but how true is this and who should you be playing these games with?

All your questions will be answered in the review. Below are my standing on the games in this pack.

My tier list of The Jackbox Party Pack 7.

Let’s start with the least liked and make our way to the most liked.

A game of Blather Round

Blather Round – Eh
Blather round is very similar to the board game Taboo in that one person has a word that they to communicate with limited vocabulary. But where Taboo gives you words that you can’t use, Blather Round gives you words that you can use.

In my opinion, it is just Taboo but worse. It is less creative without being able to use your own words. It’s not bad but why play it when Taboo is free online and better.

A game of Talking Points

Talking Points – Worth Trying
Talking Points is an improv game where someone must give a presentation on a topic. But the catch is that they don’t control what is on the slides, another player controls that for them.

Personally, I love this game. The problem is that no one likes this game as much as I do, which is a big reason why the game is fun. If you find yourself in a room of people who love this game, you are in for a good time. But odds are it’s not going to be a home run for most people.

A game of Quiplash 3

Quiplash 3 – Fun With The Right People
Quiplash 3 is the same as Quiplash 1 and 2 but with new prompts. The idea is simple: There is a prompt and whoever puts the funniest answer wins.

There is a reason they had to make three of these. It’s because they are all so good! Very fun with friends but playing it with people that you have to be formal around is a bit bland.

A game of Champ’d Up

Champ’d Up – Fun With The Right People:
Champ’d Up is a drawing game where players make the “champion” of a topic (see image). Then two players battle to see who is the champion by players voting.

This game is very fun with friends. Drawing is very funny and everyone has a good time. It has the same problem as Quiplash though in that playing with people that you usually act semi-formal around is bland.

A game of The Devils and the Details

The Devils And The Details – Fun With Anyone:
The Devils And The Details is a game where all players are a family of devils. To win they must work together to do all the chores around the house. But (this is where the devil part comes in) there are also selfish tasks people can do that benefit themselves and hurt all the rest of the family.

This game is very fun with anyone you play it with, being able to tell everyone to stop doing selfish tasks and then doing one yourself five seconds later is a great feeling. Though I feel it can’t reach the peaks that Quiplash 3 and Champ’d Up can reach, it is consistently good and a great icebreaker with new people.

ULTIMATE VERDICT: Jackbox Party Pack 7  – Recommend
The Jackbox Party Pack 7 is one of, if not the best, Jackbox Party Pack there is and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a fun time with their friends or family.
